FRIENDSHIPS / DISPUNET REAL TALK
Group chat drama? Take the conversation somewhere better.
For Gen Z friendships, mixed signals, and the group chat message that landed all wrong.
01. Check the meaning before the reaction
Text leaves out tone. If a message felt dismissive, ask what the person meant instead of assuming the worst. A short private conversation may clear up what a busy group chat cannot.
02. Describe the issue without a pile-on
Talk about the action and its effect, rather than labelling the person. Give the people involved a chance to explain. Inviting more people should add useful context, not turn the conversation into a popularity contest.
03. Invite with intention
If you use Dispunet, add the relevant dispute members and share the dispute code with people whose perspective you want. Ask everyone involved before sharing personal details. A shareable code is still something to handle thoughtfully.
04. Decide what happens next
A useful resolution might be an apology, a clearer group plan, or a boundary around jokes. Be specific about what would make the next interaction feel better.
